FAQs
What is a normal progesterone range?
Follicular Phase (first half of cycle): 0.3-2 ng/ml
Luteal Phase (second half of cycle): 10-20 ng/ml
Pregnancy (First Trimester): 10-20 ng/ml
Pregnancy (Second Trimester): 20-30 ng/ml
These ranges may vary slightly depending on individual factors and lab standards. Always consult with a healthcare provider for personalized interpretation.
Can a progesterone test detect pregnancy?
High progesterone levels in early pregnancy are necessary to maintain the pregnancy.
Low progesterone levels may indicate a potential issue, such as a risk of miscarriage or an abnormal pregnancy.
This test can be particularly helpful in confirming a healthy pregnancy and monitoring its progression.
Where do I send my sample?
You will receive a free return label to send your health test samples back to our lab for analysis. Clear instructions, including return details, will be provided via email to ensure a smooth and hassle-free process.
What do I need to do before my test? i.e. fast, no drinking, etc
If fasting or limiting alcohol intake is required before your blood test, we will send you personalized instructions via email after your order is placed. However, most tests can be taken without the need for fasting.
When will I get my results/how will I receive my results?
Results are typically processed within 2–3 working days. If a sample is sent over the weekend (which we do not recommend), you will receive your results within 2–3 days from the following Monday. Once your results and personalized report are ready, you will receive an email notification with instructions to log in to the Welzo online platform and view your results.
What are the progesterone levels for pregnancy?
First Trimester: Progesterone levels should be between 10-20 ng/ml.
Second Trimester: Levels should increase to 20-30 ng/ml.
If your progesterone levels fall below 10 ng/ml, it could indicate a higher risk of miscarriage or other complications, which may require medical attention. It’s important to monitor these levels, especially if you have concerns about your pregnancy.
