Frequently Asked Questions
Important Information
For optimal results, it is recommended to collect the sample during the first urination of the day, as it typically contains the highest concentration of FSH.
Procedure
Prepare the Test: Allow the test pouch to come to room temperature before opening. Remove the test from the sealed pouch and use it within one hour.
Collect the Sample: Remove the cap from the test. Hold the absorbent tip in the urine stream for at least 15 seconds, or submerge it (≥2/3) into a clean urine sample cup for 15 seconds.
Set Up the Test: Replace the cap on the test. Lay the test flat on a clean, stable surface with the test and control windows facing upward. Start the timer immediately.
Observe the Test: As the test begins to work, you may see a light-colored flow moving across the test and control windows. Read the result at 3 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
When should you begin testing?
For those with regular periods: Take the first test during the first week of your cycle (days 2-7, with day 1 being the first day of menstruation).
If the result is negative but symptoms persist, repeat the test one week later.
For those without regular periods: Take the test at any time during the month, and if necessary, repeat the test one week later.
Reading the results
Reading the Results
Read the result at 3 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.
POSITIVE Result: Two lines will appear. The line in the test line region (T) should be as dark as or darker than the line in the control line region (C).
A positive result indicates that the FSH level is elevated above normal. Record the results and refer to the chart below for further interpretation.
NEGATIVE Result: Two lines will appear, but the line in the test line region (T) will be lighter than the line in the control line region (C), or there may be no line in the test line region (T).
A negative result means that the FSH level is not elevated at this time. Record the results and consult the chart below for further interpretation.
INVALID Result: The control line fails to appear. This is most likely due to insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques.
To resolve this, review the procedure and repeat the test with a new device. If the issue persists, discontinue using the test kit and contact your local distributor.
