Frequently Asked Questions
Important Information
The test will evaluate whether the sperm concentration in the collected sample is above or below 15 million sperm per milliliter. A result below 15 million sperm/mL may indicate male infertility, which could reduce the chances of conception.
Procedure
2. Collect the semen sample in the provided cup.
3. Allow the sample to liquefy for 60 minutes at room temperature.
4. Using the semen transfer device included in the kit, draw the sample up to the 0.1 mL mark and add it to the vial of dilution buffer provided.
5. Mix the semen sample with the buffer by gently turning the vial upside down 5-10 times.
6. Hold the buffer tube upright, open the cap, and transfer 2 full drops of the mixture into the specimen well of the test cassette. Start a timer for 5 minutes.
7. After 5 minutes, read the results. Do not interpret the results after 10 minutes.
Specimen collection and preparation
2. Take care to avoid contaminating the sample by preventing contact with hands, tissues, or any other materials.
3. Gently swirl the collection cup to mix the semen evenly, then let the sample stand at room temperature for 1 hour to allow it to liquefy. Ensure the sample is tested within 12 hours, as storage beyond this time may affect results.
Reading the results
Timing: Read the results exactly 5 minutes after dispensing the specimen. Do not interpret the results after 10 minutes.
Interpreting the Results
NORMAL Result:
Two colored lines will appear:
One in the control line region (C).
One in the test line region (T).
Note: The intensity of the test line (T) color may vary based on the concentration of the SP-10 protein in the specimen. Any visible shade of color in the test line region (T) indicates a normal result.
ABNORMAL Result:
Only one colored line appears in the control line region (C), with no line visible in the test line region (T).
INVALID Result:
The control line (C) does not appear. This may be caused by:
Insufficient specimen volume.
Incorrect test procedure.
If the result is invalid:
Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new device.
If the issue persists, stop using the test kit and contact our support team for assistance.
