FAQs

Important Information

Luteinizing hormone (LH) is produced by the body just before ovulation, triggering the release of a mature egg from the ovary. The LH surge typically occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, marking the peak of fertility.

This test kit contains 5 individual tests, allowing you to monitor your LH levels over several days to identify your most fertile window. Additionally, the kit includes a “when to start testing” chart, which helps you calculate the optimal time to begin testing based on the length of your menstrual cycle.

Procedure
  • Determine the correct day to begin testing by consulting the “When to start testing” guide or the instructions in your testing kit. Allow the pouch to come to room temperature before opening.

  • Remove the midstream test from the sealed pouch and use it within 1 hour.

  • Remove the cap and place it over the thumb grip for easy handling.

  • Hold the midstream test by the capped thumb grip with the absorbent tip facing downwards. Place the tip directly into your urine stream for 10-15 seconds until it’s thoroughly wet.

  • After removing the test from your urine, immediately replace the cap over the absorbent tip. Lay the test flat with the results window facing upwards, and start the timer.

  • As the test works, you may observe a light-colored flow across the test and control windows. Read the results at 3 minutes. If no result appears, wait an additional minute. Do not interpret the results after 10 minutes.

When to start testing
  • Begin by determining the length of your menstrual cycle. This is calculated from the first day of your period to the day before your next period begins.

  • Next, use the menstrual cycle chart to find your cycle length in the first row. The corresponding number in the second row will indicate how many days after your period to start testing for ovulation.

  • Refer to the sample calendar to pinpoint the exact day to begin testing. Avoid using your first morning urine for the LH test. For optimal results, aim to test at the same time each day, and limit your fluid intake about 2 hours before testing.

Reading the results

Read the result at 3 minutes. If no result appears, wait one more minute. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.

POSITIVE: Two coloured lines will appear. The line in the test line region should be equal to or darker than the line in the control line region. This indicates an LH surge, suggesting that ovulation is likely to occur within the next 24-36 hours.

NEGATIVE: Two coloured lines will appear, but the test line will be lighter than the control line or no test line will appear. This indicates no LH surge and that ovulation is not imminent. Continue testing daily.

INVALID: If no coloured line appears in the control line region, regardless of whether a test line appears, the result is invalid. Repeat the test with a new test kit.
